Your questions, answered

Clear answers for Local Authorities and Registered Providers on how Boost delivers compliant, sustainable modular housing — from procurement routes to timescales and the solutions we build.
Our solutions
What types of housing does Boost provide?

We deliver three core solutions: Temporary Accommodation (demountable, relocatable self-contained units), two-storey homes (detached, terraced and bungalow), and low-rise apartment buildings up to 18m / six storeys. Each is built offsite and tailored to the needs of the community and site.

What is modular housing and how is it different from traditional construction?

Modular units are manufactured in a controlled factory environment rather than built on-site, then delivered nearly complete. This achieves consistent quality, reduces waste, and cuts construction timelines dramatically — with units activated within weeks rather than months.

Are the units relocatable?

Yes. Our relocatable units can transform temporarily available land into functional living space, then be efficiently moved to a new site when the land is needed for its intended purpose — flexibility traditional construction cannot match.

How long do the units last?

Demountable units have a design life of up to 25 years and our homes /apartments carry BOPAS accreditation — the industry-recognised standard for offsite construction — confirming that each unit has passed rigorous independent assessment for durability, performance, and long-term mortgage ability for a minimum of 60 years.

Procurement & Compliance
Is Boost a compliant route for Local Authority procurement?

Yes. Engagement is structured through a regulated, pre-approved framework agreement, fully aligned with the Procurement Act 2023. We are an approved Tier 1 contractor for Design & Build, with approval for residential and temporary relocatable accommodation.

Which frameworks can we procure through?

Boost is approved on both the Clear Futures Supply Chain Framework andthe South East Consortium DPS, giving Local Authorities a compliant, competitive route to procurement with audited financial benchmarking andrigorous compliance checks.

How does Boost demonstrate value for money?

In line with HM Treasury's Green Book, we provide detailed options appraisals and business cases assessing economic, financial, social and environmental value, helping Local Authorities evidence sound use of public funds beyond simple cost.

What accreditations does Boost hold?

Our certifications include Construction Line Gold, Considerate Constructorsand PQS and we are in the process of attaining ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 andBOPAS for Project Management for Design, Manufacture and Construction. A full breakdownis available on our Procurement & Compliance page.

Delivery, cost & sustainability
How quickly can a scheme be delivered?

Offsite manufacturing and on-site preparation happen in parallel, significantly reducing build time. Schemes can be completed within around 7-12 months of planning consent.

How does Boost reduce costs for Local Authorities?

Standardised manufacturing and streamlined timelines can reduce onsite associatedcosts by up to 50% versus traditional methods, replacing costly nightly lets and B&B placements with long-term assets and predictable pricing.

How sustainable are the units?

Units integrate high-performance insulation, triple-glazed windows, smart energy management and optional solar PV. Volumetric modular construction can cut embodied carbon by over 25% compared with traditional builds, lowering both emissions and running costs.

What about social value?

Each project carries a measurable social impact plan covering localemployment and community investment, with transparent reporting and support delivered through our named Boost Community Fund.
